This holder is sized for true 2.5 LB extinguishers. If you run a Kidde, use the taller White Marine/Auto BC extinguisher — not the red or grey Kidde units. Kidde lists gross weight on the bottle (deceptive), and their 2.5 LB bottles are shorter and have less fire-fighting capacity. We recommend First Alert or Amerex for best fit and performance.
