Ratchet Tie Downs

Bull Strap 2" ratchet tie downs are rated at 10,000 lb break strength with a 3,333 lb working load limit per strap. The axle strap option wraps around the axle housing rather than hooking to frame components — safer when hooking to control arms, brake components, or other suspension elements creates deformation risk under high strap tension. Recovery Straps

Kinetic recovery straps for snatch recovery — the most common trail extraction method. The strap stretches as the recovery vehicle accelerates, storing energy that releases as the stuck vehicle breaks free. Lower peak shock load on recovery attachment points, the stuck vehicle's frame, and the pulling vehicle's hitch than a rigid tow would create. Less risk of snapping a recovery hook off the bumper. Less risk of putting a violent shock into the drivetrain. Kinetic recovery is the standard approach for mud, sand, and soft surface extractions where the stuck vehicle needs to be freed by a moving recovery vehicle rather than a stationary winch pull.

Static straps for straight-line towing and extraction situations where a rigid connection is the appropriate approach — flat surface drags, recovery to a position from which a winch pull or kinetic recovery can operate, and short-distance vehicle moves where building kinetic momentum is not possible. Both kinetic and static options made in the USA to rated specification.

Limit Straps

Suspension limit straps are the most important and most overlooked accessory for lifted off-road vehicles. Without them, full suspension droop places CV axles at angles beyond their engineered operating range — creating accelerated wear that leads to CV joint failure, often on the trail. Full droop can also allow differential contact with the frame or underbody, stretch brake lines and ABS sensor wires to the end of their designed range of motion, and fatigue flexible brake hose through repeated over-extension. All of these are trail-ending failures that limit straps prevent.

A limit strap connects from the frame to the axle housing and stops droop at the point where these component interactions begin. The strap absorbs the load at full droop cleanly — the webbing is rated for the tensile load, the bar-tacked attachment points are rated for the dynamic load at maximum droop, and the system stops the axle at the correct travel limit rather than allowing components to define that limit through failure.

Load ratings for straps are only valid when the webbing that makes them is produced consistently to the specification the rating is based on. US-manufactured webbing is produced under consistent quality control to a consistent specification. Ratchet Tie Downs

For cargo securing, working load limit is the number that matters: the maximum load the strap should carry in normal use. Break strength is the theoretical failure point, not the operational rating. Use working load limit for load planning. Use break strength to understand the safety margin between normal use and failure.

Ratchet tie downs use a ratcheting mechanism to tension the strap against the cargo. The ratchet maintains tension during transport without requiring manual re-tensioning every stop. For cargo that shifts or settles during transit, re-check tension at the first stop after loading. Heavy loads settle as the cargo and the securing points settle into each other, which can reduce strap tension from the initial setting.

Recovery Straps

Kinetic recovery straps (snatch straps) stretch under load, storing energy that releases as a pull on the stuck vehicle. The stretch is the mechanism — a kinetic strap should not be used as a tow strap, and a tow strap should not be substituted for a kinetic recovery strap. They look similar and serve different purposes. A tow strap used as a kinetic recovery strap will snap under the shock load. A kinetic strap used for towing will stretch under sustained load and may not maintain consistent tension.

Tree savers protect the tree anchor point and the winch line. A winch cable or synthetic rope run directly around a tree damages the tree and the line at the contact point. A tree saver strap distributes the load across a wider area of bark and provides a soft surface for the winch hook. Use a tree saver any time you anchor to a tree — it is the right practice and it protects both the anchor and the line.

Limit Straps

Suspension limit straps limit the droop travel of a lifted vehicle's suspension, preventing CV axle and brake line overextension at full droop. They mount between the frame or body and the axle, going taut at the maximum safe droop point before the components reach their damage threshold. Required on any significant lift — the amount of additional droop a lift allows often exceeds what the factory brake lines and CV axles can handle without overextension damage.
