Bartact Patents and Innovation

Bartact holds patents and patent-pending status on multiple product inventions. The company did not enter the tactical accessories market by replicating existing products — it created product categories that did not previously exist and continues to develop original solutions for genuine problems in the off-road and tactical accessories space.

The Paracord Grab Handle

Bartact invented the aftermarket paracord grab handle for Jeep Wrangler. This is the founding product of the company and the origin of the product category. Before Bartact, there was no aftermarket roll bar grab handle specifically designed and built for the Jeep Wrangler. Bartact created the product, built the manufacturing process to produce it at scale, and established the standard that the market subsequently adopted.

Patent-Pending Products

Multiple Bartact products carry Patent Pending status, including sun shade configurations for Jeep Wrangler JL, JLU, and Gladiator; console organizer designs for JL/JLU and Ford Bronco; specific MOLLE panel mounting solutions; and the aluminum JLU roll bar fire extinguisher mount. Patent Pending status means a patent application has been filed and is under review — the invention is original Bartact intellectual property under active protection.

Design Philosophy

Bartact's approach to product development starts with an unmet need — a problem that exists for Jeep, Bronco, and Tacoma owners that does not have a satisfactory solution in the current market. The design process works from the need backward to the solution, rather than from an existing product forward to a variation. The result is products that solve real problems rather than competing with existing products on the margin.

US manufacturing is integral to this design process. When manufacturing is domestic, design and production are in direct contact. Design changes are implemented in the next production run rather than through a supply chain that introduces delay between specification change and manufactured result. The ability to iterate quickly on product design based on customer feedback and field performance is a direct function of manufacturing domestically.

Protecting Innovation

Patent protection on original inventions is how Bartact maintains the advantage of being first. A product category that Bartact created, that competitors enter by copying rather than innovating, is a product category Bartact can protect through intellectual property rights on the specific inventions that make the category work. The patents in the Bartact portfolio are on real inventions — specific designs, specific mechanisms, specific solutions — not broad claims designed to block competition generally.
