Suspension limit straps — also called limit straps or droop straps — protect CV axles, brake lines, and suspension components from damage when the suspension droops past its safe travel range during off-road articulation. Without limit straps on a lifted vehicle, hard articulation can overextend CV axles to the point of failure. A CV replacement on the trail is recoverable. Prevention costs a fraction of a tow and CV rebuild.

When You Need Limit Straps

Lifted vehicles with extended droop travel are the primary use case — the more lift, the more potential for overextension. Any Wrangler or Gladiator with 2"+ of lift and serious trail use should have limit straps. Stock-height vehicles on mild trails have less exposure, but limit straps are cheap insurance regardless.
